For the past 18 years, the Alliance Française of Greenwich has presented one of the very best French film festivals in the U.S. titled Focus on French Cinema, with a selection of the latest French and French-language movies, including many U.S. premieres and award-winning films. All films are subtitled in English and showcased in professional venues in and around Greenwich, Connecticut. Guest directors and actors, as well as many other events and educational projects are part of this annual festival too!
This year Orienta restaurant and Chef Adrien Blech have partnered with Alliance Française of Greenwich and Focus on French Cinema (FFC) to spotlight the culinary style film, Umami. In this film, following a near-death experience, France's leading chef Gabriel Carvin (Gérard Depardieu) throws himself into a quest seeking the flavor that has confounded his life since he was defeated by a Japanese chef's bowl of noodles as a young man. Ticket holders will have access to a special lunch prix-fixe during the film festival.
